The “Trauma, Healing and Nutrition” podcast series integrates and links trauma-informed approaches to healing with topics related to food justice. The project aim is the promotion of healing, environmentally sustainable, and socially responsible and equitable relationships to food production and consumption, with an emphasis on social action. Approximately half of the episodes focus on the use of nutrition in healing from the mental and physical effects of trauma. The other half are focused on “food justice”, including issues to do with food access and food insecurity, and also topics addressing food production, labor exploitation in the food industries, food quality, and food labeling and policy. A beta version of the podcast is live as of November 2019, hosted by Repair Director Beth Ribet, and accessible on Apple Podcasts, iHeart Radio, Google Podcasts, Spotify. Our intention in 2020-2021 is to establish a regular production schedule and build an audience base generating at least 5000 downloads per episode by the end of 2021.
